The Honorable, Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, RTA, In a statement released on Sunday, February 18, revealed the information on Dubai’s public transport usage in 2023. The total number of riders reached 702 million in 2023, a 13% rise over the previous year.

All set for a visionary mission, the Dubai Metro Line project is all set to establish 14 amazingly designed stations. Among these 14, 3 are strategically positioned interchange hubs. These newly introduced stations will connect all the important areas of Dubai, making it easier for the citizens to commute without any difficulties. The project has become a crucial part of the city as in the coming future the expected growth of the city could reach one million. To create a comprehensive network and easy commute for travelers, The Dubai Metro Blue Line will be designed in a way that it can seamlessly integrate with the existing Red and Green lines. The Blue Line will, in particular, provide a direct connection between Dubai International Airport and nine significant locations situated along its path.

The Honorable Mattar Al Tayyar, also stated that the journey in Blue Metro Line can vary from a quick 10 minutes to a maximum of 25 minutes, which can make it easier for everyday travelers.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Dubai, first revealed the plans for the Dubai Metro Blue Line in November of last year.

He also added that The Blue Line Route will cost about 18 billion dirhams and will cover areas such as Dubai Creek, Festival City, International City, Al Warqa, Mirdif, Al Rashidya, and Urban Areas. It is estimated that this new line can easily facilitate 30,000+ new passengers daily.
